God Says vs. State Says

god says thou shall not kill
but if the state says thou shalt kill
in the interests of your country
it is no longer immoral
but an honor

god says thou shall not steal
but the state says thou shall steal
for if one lusts after the goods of another
and through civil tort and legal action one wins a battle
it is honorable an one is free to amass fortunes

god says thou shall not commit adultery
but the state says that sex between two consenting adults
is honorable and legal
we have already seen the huge death toll aids has taken
and venereal diseases are common and ever increasing
now the state tells us that people in other lands
who make no distinction between the state and god
who choose to live under one moral code and system
one for all and all for one
that these people are the axis of evil
and deserve to be destroyed
and if when they defend themselves
against the foreign invaders
they are to be considered terrorists and slaughtered
and since the invaders have the intention the power and the training
to completely annihilate these weaker people in their beliefs
serving the state in this effort is an honor and a privilege
while no mention is ever made of the multitudes of innocent people
who perish in the path of this war machine
robert s mcnamara stated that 3.8 million were killed in vietnam
and over 160 million last century
and if the state says to profit through these efforts is good
then multi-national corporations
that worship the god of land, labor and capital
serve the demands of the paganism
exonerating lust, greed and avarice
and making them values of strength and fertility
renaming these vices and calling it good
nevertheless the god of love life and truth
brings judgement on all those who practice wickedness
by perverting justice
it is written that their demise will come unwittingly
even in the span of a single hour
